Emerging Leaders Programme
Emerging Leaders Programme
NQF Level 3-4, (52 credits)
Purpose
This programme is designed to create empowered supervisors who are well-rounded, have a wide range of competencies and who ‘lead’ rather than ‘manage’. It is specifically aimed at supervisors or team leaders who have had little formal education and training as well as individuals who have been identified as having managerial potential.
Aligned to the following unit standards:
Communication Skills

Accommodate audience and context needs in oral/signed communication(US 119472)

Assertiveness Communicate is an assertive manner with clients and fellow workers
(US 9506)
Supervisory Leadership

Supervise employees (US 113845)

Emotional Intelligence & Managing Diversity

Apply knowledge of self in order to make a personal decision (US 120308)

Show understanding of diversity in the workplace (US 116720)

Managing Team Performance

Apply knowledge of self and team in orderto develop a plan to enhance team performance (US 13912)

Problem Solving

Apply problem solving strategies (US 14927)

Use communication skills to handle and resolve conflict in the workplace
(US 9533)

Time Management Prioritise time and work for self and team (US 242811)
Labour Relations Demonstrate understanding of employment relations in an organisation

Basic Finance

Interpret basic financial statements (US 117156)

Use a personal budget to manage own money (US 119913)

 
 
Duration
  • Presented over a period of 9 months (172 hours)
  • On average, 16 contact hours per month
Entry Requirements
Learners are required to have competence in English, Mathematical and Financial  Literacy  at NQF Level 3/Grade 11 or equivalent. Entry requirements per module are unique and according to aligned Unit Standards. Internal placement assessments are available.
Assessment
Portfolio of Evidence (including workplace-based assignments)
Cost
  • R15 000.00 per person excl. VAT (R17 100 incl. VAT)
