Fundamental Project Management
Fundamental Project Management Programme
(PMISA registered)
NQF Level 4 (13 credits)
Purpose
This programme will enable learners to begin operating in a project environment by understanding the terminology used and interpreting and explaining fundamental concepts of project management. It will also add value to learners who are running their own business and recognise that project management forms an integral component of any business.
Aligned to Specific Unit Standard
  • US 120372: Explain fundamentals of Project Management, NQF Level 4, 5 credits.
  • US 120379: Work as a Project team member, NQF Level 4, 8 credits

At the completion of the programme, the learner will be able to:

  • Explain the nature of a project
  • Explain the nature and application of project management
  • Explain the types and structures that are found in a project environment
  • Explain the application of organisation structures in a project environment
  • Explain the major processes and activities required to manage a project
  • Demonstrate an understanding of working as a member of a team
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve performance.
  • Participate in building relations between team members and other stakeholders.
  • Respect personal, ethical, religious and cultural differences to enhance interaction between team members.
  • Use a variety of strategies to deal with potential or actual conflict in a project team.
Duration
Presented over a period of 5 days (40 hours)
Entry Requirements
Learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in computer literacy, numeracy, literacy and communications at NQF level 4 or equivalent. Internal placement assessments are available.
Assessment
  • Portfolio of Evidence as well as the presentation of a Project and a written Assessment thereafter
Cost
  • R5 250.00 per person excl. VAT (Numbers are limited to an intake of 25 per group)
