Intermediate Project Management Programme
(PMISA registered)
NQF Level 4 (27 credits)
Purpose
This Intermediate programme in Project Management will equip project managers not only with theoretical skills, but also with the practical understanding required for successful project planning and implementation.
Aligned to the following Unit Standards
  • US 120373: Contribute to project initiation, scope definition and scope change control. NQF Level 4, 9 credits.
  • US 120384: Develop a simple schedule to facilitate effective project execution. NQF Level 4, 8 credits.
  • US 120387: Monitor, evaluate and communicate simple project schedules. NQF Level 4, 4 credits
  • US 120376: Conduct project documentation management to suppor tproject processes. NQF Level 4, 6 credits
At the completion of the programme, the learner will be able to:
  • Contribute to the identification and co-ordination of stakeholders, their roles, needs and expectations
  • Contribute to the identification, description and analysis of the project needs, expectations, constraints, assumptions, exclusions, inclusions and deliverables
  • Contribute to preparing and producing inputs to be used for further planning activities
  • Contribute to monitoring the achievement of the project’s scope
  • Identify, explain and describe the purpose and process of scheduling project activities
  • Define and gather project activities from technical experts and within own field expertise
  • Develop a simple schedule for a project or part thereof  (Aligned to the PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge)
  • Describe and explain a range of project schedule control processes and techniques
  • Monitor actual projectw ork versus planned work (baseline)
  • Record and communicate schedule changes
Duration
Presented over 10 days (approx. 80 hours) over a period of 5 months
Entry Requirements

Learners are required to have completed the following unit standard as a prerequisite for entry onto this programme:

  • US 120372: Explain fundamentals of project management
  • Internal placement assessments are available.
