Moderator Award
NQF Level 6 (10 credits)
Purpose
The purpose of this skills programme is to provide the learner with the knowledge, skills and strategies to assist them to effectively conduct internal or external moderation of outcomes-based assessments. The learner will be able to moderate assessments in terms of relevant outcome statements and quality assurance requirements. The learner will understand the moderation principles within an outcomes-based assessment context and will be able to understand and apply the various steps of a credible moderation process. The programme will also provide the learner with the skills to plan and prepare, conduct and evaluate moderation as well as the techniques of advising and supporting assessors.

  • US 115759: Conduct moderation of outcomes-based assessments, NQF Level 6, 10 credits

At the completion of the programme, the learner will be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of moderation within the context of an outcomes-based assessment system
  • Plan and prepare for moderation
  • Conduct moderation
  • Advise and support assessors
  • Report, record and administer moderation
  • Review moderation systems and processes

3 days (24 hours)
Entry Requirements
LThe learner should have achieved US 115753 (Assessor Award) & have assessment experience.
If you have already done equivalent training, we can provide you with the credits through a RPL process.

  • Portfolio of Evidence – showing practical, foundational and reflexive competence.
