| Purpose |
| This workshop is intended for participants who assist in applying internal financial administration. It will assist them with the understanding of the PFMA principles as well as how to apply the rules and regulations in the administration of office funds. Participants will also be taught the skills to manage a budget within their organisation. |
| Aligned to the following Unit Standard |
- US 114873: Apply basic financial procedures to PFMA principles, NQF Level 5, 3 credits
- US 242810: Manage expenditure against a budget, NQF Level 4, 6 credits
At the completion of the programme, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the PFMA
- Apply rules and regulations to administer office finance
- Assist in planning and preparing a budget for own sention
- Explain the concept of budgeting pertinent to an area of responsibility
- Determine the elements of a budget relevant to an area of responsibility
- Monitor and control actual expenses against a budget
- Look at the responsibility of the: (I) Auditor General, (II) SCOPA, (III) Provincial and National Treasury, (IV) Internal audit committees
