Richard Patten recently completed a gruelling 300km non-stop cycle from Port Elizabeth to East London in an effort to raise funds for The Workbench Centre in EL Richard who completed the LEAD Programme in 1994 has remained a committed supporter of all LDI initiatives with respect to the Centre which we have been supporting since 1993.

After 20 hours in the saddle, Richard arrived at the Workbench to rapturous applause from the approx 85 workers who showered him with praise for his efforts. The East London public were very generous in their support of this endeavour and in all R 25 000 was raised through this effort which will go towards renovating the building that they are housed in.
